About Michelle
EMDRIA Certified therapist in Arlington, TX
I’m a licensed therapist offering EMDR therapy in Arlington, Texas, and online therapy throughout Texas.
I specialize in working with high achieving adults who struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, people pleasing, imposter syndrome, and the exhaustion that comes from always feeling responsible for holding everything together.
Many of the people I work with are incredibly capable and dependable. From the outside, it may look like they have everything figured out. But internally, they may feel overwhelmed, self critical, stuck, or disconnected from themselves. They often know what they need to do, but feel frustrated that they cannot seem to change patterns they have carried for years.
If this sounds familiar, you may have spent a lot of time wondering why things feel harder than they seem like they should.
You may have learned to push through, be the responsible one, anticipate other people’s needs, or strive for perfection. These patterns often develop for good reasons. They may have helped you feel safe, valued, or connected at one point in your life. But over time, they can leave you feeling anxious, exhausted, disconnected, and like you have to constantly prove your worth.
Why These Patterns Develop
The struggles we experience as adults often have a story behind them.
Some people grew up in environments where emotions were unpredictable, minimized, or difficult to navigate. Others learned early that being responsible, successful, helpful, or easy to care for was how they received approval and connection.
Many of us develop ways of coping that help us get through challenging experiences. The problem is that those same patterns can become exhausting when we continue relying on them long after they are needed.
When we begin therapy, my goal is not to ask, “What is wrong with you?”
Instead, I believe a more helpful question is:
“What happened that taught you to see yourself this way?”
Understanding your story can create space for compassion, healing, and change.
How I Work
I believe therapy begins with feeling seen, heard, and believed.
You are the expert on your own life and experiences. My role is to bring my clinical knowledge, curiosity, and support while we work together to better understand your story, your nervous system, and the patterns that have shaped you.
It is important to me that I continue doing my own work as a therapist. I believe that personal growth is a lifelong process, and my own experiences have deepened my understanding of how vulnerable it can feel to truly look inward and make changes.
I have learned how powerful it is to have someone listen without judgment, believe your experiences, and see the whole person rather than focusing only on symptoms or struggles.
That is the kind of space I strive to create for my clients.
Therapy with me is collaborative, personalized, and compassionate. I do not believe there is one right way to heal. Instead, I adapt our work to your unique needs, personality, and goals.
EMDR Therapy and Trauma Informed Care
My work is grounded in EMDR therapy, an evidence based approach that helps the brain and body process experiences that still feel emotionally stuck.
Many clients come to therapy understanding their patterns intellectually but feeling frustrated that insight alone has not created change. EMDR can help address the deeper emotional responses and nervous system patterns that continue to impact how you feel, think, and relate to yourself and others.
Together, we work toward helping you feel more grounded, more connected to yourself, and less controlled by old survival patterns.
Why Work With Me
I am an EMDRIA Certified Therapist™, which means I have completed advanced EMDR training, consultation, and clinical requirements beyond basic EMDR education.
This additional specialization supports my work with clients navigating anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, attachment wounds, and long standing relational patterns.
Above all, I want therapy to be a place where you no longer have to convince someone that your experiences are real.
A place where you can stop fighting against yourself and begin understanding yourself with more compassion.
Healing does not begin when you become someone different.
It begins when you feel safe enough to fully understand and accept who you already are.
